Each year the elected Worshipful Master is the person designated to set the programs for the ensuing year. He is "Rule and Guide" of a Masonic Lodge and becoming Master of his Lodge is an important responsibility as well as an honor. The Brothers of the Lodge elect the Worshipful Master based on their confidence in his experience, wisdom and leadership skills. Masters generally govern their lodges for one year. The men who have garnered the jewel of the square are in great company, as many famous American were Masons who set their goals to build a great nation that would become the United States of America. Beginning with George Washington, Ben Franklin during the Revolutionary War and during WWII Roosevelt, MacArthur and at one of the most crucial moments of history, Harry S. Truman was given the task of making the most difficult decision any human has had to make. All these great men were Masons. These are just a few of the many proud men of history who had served their Fraternity and their countrymen. As we look to the future at your local Fayette Lodge No. 69, we first want to pay homage to all of the Worshipful Masters who have served you, your community and our country through these years as devoted citizens. But today more then ever before we need young men to follow in the tenants set down by our Past Masters to show the light of Masonry throughout our community, country and the world of Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love. |
